Who can drive the van?

The van may only be driven by natural persons over 23 years of age who have a valid B licence and have held it for at least two years on the date the rental begins.

Can I add a second driver?

Yes. All drivers must be expressly named in the rental agreement.

What do drivers need at the time of collection?

Each driver must produce their original:

  • driving licence
  • valid identity document

Copies, images, or non-original digital documents are not accepted.

Can someone drive who is not named in the contract?

No. If the vehicle is driven by an unauthorised person, you lose the right to any contractual limitation of your liability and are fully liable for all damage caused to the vehicle and third parties (only the statutory third-party liability cover remains).

In which countries can I drive the van?

You may only use the vehicle within the territory of the European Union.

Can I leave Sardinia with the van?

Yes, but leaving the territory of the Region of Sardinia by sea transport is only possible with prior notification and written authorisation from Vanthura.

What does the rental price include?

The total price includes:

  • daily vehicle rate
  • any equipment and accessories booked
  • fixed cleaning and sanitisation fee
  • any additional services selected at the time of booking

The daily rate also includes ordinary maintenance costs, normal wear and tear, and the insurance coverage provided for in the contract.

What happens if I return the van very dirty?

If the vehicle is returned in a condition requiring extraordinary cleaning or additional work, the relevant costs may be charged according to the Costs and Penalties List.

What costs are not included in the rental price?

You are responsible for the following costs:

  • fuel
  • tolls
  • parking
  • campsites and rest areas
  • ferry and maritime transport costs
  • any traffic taxes, tolls, or road permits required in foreign countries
What cancellation conditions apply?

a) Cancellation between 0 and 48 hours before the start of the rental period

There is no reimbursement of:

  • vehicle rental rate
  • any booked extras
  • cleaning and sanitisation fee

b) Cancellation more than 48 hours before the start of the rental period

  • There is no refund of the vehicle rental fee.
  • The cleaning and sanitisation fee is refundable.
  • 80% of the cost of any accessories booked separately can be reimbursed.

With the “No Problem” option:

You may cancel your booking up to 30 days before the start of the rental period and are entitled to a full refund of all amounts paid, including:

  • rental rate
  • booked extras
  • cleaning and sanitisation fee
  • cost of the option itself

With the “Relax” option:

  • all the benefits of the “No Problem” option, including cancellation up to 30 days in advance with full refund
  • additionally: reduction of the insurance excess in the event of a claim covered by the policy, in accordance with the limits, conditions, and exclusions set out in the Costs and Penalties List

Excluded from the reduction of the excess:

  • damage not covered by insurance
  • damages arising from breaches of contract
  • damage caused by wilful misconduct or gross negligence
Can I free camp in Sardinia?

Free camping is regulated, and no tables or chairs may be set up outside in unauthorised areas. However, you may stop, park, and experience the van in full compliance with the rules. We always provide you with clear guidelines so you have all the information you need for your trip.

How autonomous are the vans?

Thanks to the photovoltaic system and high-capacity batteries, you will have an autonomy of up to 5 to 6 days without the need to connect to the electricity grid, under normal conditions of use.

Are the vans also suitable for families?

Yes. Configurations of up to 3 beds make them ideal for couples, friends, or families with children (2 adults + 1–2 children), with functional and comfortable spaces.

What should I take with me?

Only what you need for your trip. Sheets, towels, memory-foam toppers, dishes, and a fully equipped kitchen are already on board, as well as the camping kit, which includes a table, dining chairs, relaxation chairs, and an outdoor floor. The van is ready to go.

Can I reach dirt roads or less-travelled areas?

Yes. We also have a 4x4 version, which is perfect for inland routes, hillside villages, and dirt roads, always respecting the ground conditions and safety.

Can I add accessories to my van?

Yes. You can supplement the experience with Giant e-bikes or electric scooters that can be attached to the van, ideal for exploring coves, villages, and narrow streets after parking. We also have SUP boards and kayaks.

What type of insulation and/or heating does the van have?

The vans are equipped with thermal and acoustic insulation throughout the cabin and Autoterm Airplanar 2D heating.

Does the van have an integrated toilet and shower?

Yes. The Neo model has a fully enclosed bathroom with an internal hot-water shower and reinforced floor, shower curtain, and fixed flush-tank toilet.

What is the standard equipment of each van?

Our vans are fully equipped with sleeping area (fixed double bed with storage compartment), living/dining area (extendable table and sofas), kitchen (86L refrigerator, two-burner hob, sink, etc.), and bathroom (shower and fixed toilet). They also have all-round thermal/acoustic insulation, Autoterm heating, a full LED lighting system, a water system, and a basic electrical system.

What do I have to do before returning the van?
  • Check the general condition of the vehicle.
  • Check the presence and functionality of the on-board equipment and included accessories.
  • Check for damage.
  • The vehicle must be returned with a full fuel tank.
  • Clean-water tanks may be returned empty.
  • The toilet (fixed or mobile) must be emptied.
  • Grey water must be drained.
Is smoking allowed inside the van?

Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited.

Can I bring animals on board?

Pets are only permitted with prior consent from Vanthura and upon payment of the appropriate service charge.
Make sure you:

  • transport the animal properly;
  • protect the interior of the vehicle;
  • avoid damage, scratches, or dirtying of fabrics and surfaces.
What happens if I unintentionally damage the van?

You can read all the details in our rental agreement or contact us directly.

How does the AdBlue system work?

The vehicle is equipped with an AdBlue system and is delivered with a level of AdBlue sufficient for ordinary use of the vehicle at the beginning of the rental period. Should a refill be necessary, you will bear the costs for this. It is not necessary to return the van with a full AdBlue tank.
