Nuraghe Losa
One of the best-preserved Nuragic structures in Sardinia. Never heard of it? It’s a real must-see.
The wonder of the Nuraghe Losa
A few kilometres away from the Abbasanta plateau, amidst the silence of the countryside and the gentle contours of the hills of central Sardinia, stands the Nuraghe Losa: one of the best-preserved and most fascinating Nuragic complexes on the island. Its imposing central tower, built from perfectly interlocked basalt blocks, tells a milllennia-old story of ingenuity, power, and mystery. Walking within its walls, you’re surrounded by primitive and yet surprisingly sophisticated architecture, where every stone speaks of a people who ruled over the land with vision and skill.
Around the tower is an entire Nuragic village, with remains of huts and rooms that give the impression of a living community, organised and deeply attached to its land. Visiting the Nuraghe Losa not only transports you into the past, it’s an immersive experience that will connect you to Sardinia’s most authentic soul, off the beaten track, in a place where time seems to stand still.
